Twin Ports Rapid Response

News 2026-03-16

Welcome

No Kings 3 is coming up on March 28!

No Kings Day is less than two weeks away and the number of events planned nationally has already surpassed the total number of last October’s historic protests.

There are local training opportunities for peacekeepers this week. Zenith City Indivisible is asking for Constitutional Observers to train with them on de-escalation strategies & to volunteer as peacekeepers at the Duluth No Kings event.

No Kings 3 in Duluth!

No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.

When:
March 28, 2:00–3:00pm
Where:
City Hall
Duluth

We have the power and are claiming it together.

What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny. Resistance is spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.

When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.

On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen — we’re making it. Join us. We are especially concerned with the threat to our elections. Join us as we rally around our right to vote! Elections — Free. Fair. Forever!

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Brave of US 30 City Midwest Tour

from Immigrant Defense Network

The Immigrant Defense Network (IDN) – based in Minnesota is a growing, statewide network of 90+ nonprofits, grassroots groups, and advocates – developing new rapid response and movement building strategies through deep collaboration and coordination.

"The Immigrant Defense Network, alongside powerful partner organizations, is launching the Brave of US 30 City Midwest Tour—a bold, urgent call to action in a moment when immigrant communities are under direct attack.

"Across the Midwest, families are living in fear, neighbors are being targeted, and our constitutional rights are being tested. In response, Brave people are rising—showing up for one another, defending their neighbors, and refusing to be silent.

"This tour will bring communities together to build collective power, grow local leadership, and train Constitution Observers who are ready to respond, protect, and act. These are not just trainings—this is a movement grounded in courage, solidarity, and shared responsibility.

"Join us. Stand with immigrant communities. Be part of a growing network committed to defending dignity, safety, and justice for all."

Calls to Action

Support the STAR Act

Sign petition by Tuesday, March 17

The STAR (Safety, Trust, Accountability & Respect) Act makes Minnesotans safer by protecting schools, healthcare providers and courts from intrusion by immigration enforcement agents without a signed judicial warrant and clear identification. All Minnesota families and those who serve them must be protected from intimidation at these sensitive locations.

Take action

Oppose the SAVE Act

Write to your Legislators

..."if anything like this ever did become law, the cleanest single document would likely be a valid U.S. passport in your current legal name, because it proves citizenship directly. A REAL ID driver’s license would not, by itself, count as proof of citizenship under this proposal. People with name changes could be forced to assemble a full paper trail connecting birth certificates, marriage licenses, divorce decrees, or court orders to their current legal identity."

Mutual Aid

Critical Need for Legal Support!

Northland Legal Mutual Aid Fund

We are a collective of friends & community, union organizers, and electeds from northern MN/WI working directly with individuals and families in need of legal and financial support, including people unjustly detained in the Douglas County Jail under an intergovernmental I.C.E. contract.

There is an urgent need for funds as a result of the ongoing administration's attack on our immigrant community and neighbors. Right now, community members are confronting unexpected legal and immigration costs, lost income, and urgent basic needs — and they need support now.

The Northland Legal Mutual Aid funds raised will go towards:

  • Immigration attorney and legal fees
  • Bail bond and filing costs
  • Travel and communication expenses
  • Basic family and financial needs while their loved ones are detained
